New Year, New Habit

imagejpeg952

October 4th, 2019 I took vows for my vocation as sister of the Fransican Oblate of Mount Carmel which so happened to be St. Francis of Assisi “ feast day”. It was the most exiciting, emotional, nerve racking day of my life lol. That is, the day I officilay said goodbye to the world and took on my new name and earthly garments… my habit

As a protestant growing up I was unaware of who St. Francis of Assisi was or the saints at large. I didn’t know very much about the “religious life” only what I had seen on TV, with nuns and monks. My dad however, is Catholic and upon me giving my life to Jesus he had mentioned to me that maybe I should join a catholic convent because I was so zealous for the Lord. Immeaditely I retored in my pride that the Lord was not into denominations and I didn’t need to join a covent to walk out my faith.” Oh my, how I reaked with pride and still do but the Lord is truly bringing me lower and lower in humility as he shows me the nothing I truly am. So now 2 years later, I have taken my religious vows and joined the order of one of the greatest saints, who would’ve thought… I know Jesus did lol. He is the only one who could’ve taken a fashion designer pursuing the world, success, honor, fame and put her in the most beautiful garment in all the world…a habit.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

You see St. Francis took those words quite literally, and all of God’s word. His heart burned to live out the gospel just as Jesus did and by the Lords grace he did just that. He was a son of a wealthy merchant who was also into the high life. He embarked on a military career where he wanted to become a knight. However, through a serious of illness which stopped this pursuit and 2 visions from God. The Divine intervened and he began to pursue the Lord and in a church looking upon a cross he heard Jesus say “Go, Francis and repair my church, which as you see is falling into ruin”. Francis immeaditely thought the Lord was speaking about the church he was in, St. Damaian which was run down. So he went to his Fathers shop and sold all the fine linens to get money to rebuild the church. The Father was irate, renounced him, beat Francis, took him to trial before the Bishop of his time demanding all the money back. The Bishop at the time told him to give his Fathers money back and that the Lord would provide for him to rebuild the church. At that point Francis, had a divine enlightened as the scripture from Matthew came to his mine “ Our Father who are in Heaven”. He renounced his entire family, father, fortune and realized now had a Father in heaven who would provide for him. He needed no connection with the world, he stripped off all his clothes gave them to his Father as the Bishop covered him and as he turned his back literally on the world. He then placed upon himself “ a brown potatoe sackcloth” as his garment of choice. To love our lady Poverty as our Lord Jesus did

St. Francis, heart burned to live the gospel out literally by these scriptures revealed to him by the Lord.

Matthew 10:8 Freely have you received freely give.

Luke 9:3 “Take nothing for your journey,” he instructed them. Don’t take a walking stick, a traverlers bag, good, money or even a change of clothes”

Matthew 19:21 Jesus answered, “if you want to be perfect, go, sell your possesions and give to the poor, and you will have treasures in heaven. Then come, follow me”

Francis took these words literally and lived out these scriptures unto his death which have impacted the church still centuries later. These same scriptures the Lord burned in my heart to take very seriously and literally. After losing my job, I began to give all my things away, giving to the poor and he desires for me not too charge any fee in anything that I do or give becaue I have freely reiceved. So coming to New Mexico I had no idea what the Lord had in store and didn’t know what to expect. However, it was after a month of being here that I learned Father and Mother Clare where Fransiscan and as we watched the movie “ Brother sun, sister Moon” about the life of St. Francis of Assisi my heart burned yet again. This is always wanted I wanted, or better yet what the Lord wanted for me! I just didn’t see any example in front of me to follow.

Now putting on the habit was a different story, when I found out that I would have too, or let me rephrase that. That I would get to wear the habit for the rest of my life as a wedding garment unto the Lord I was repulsed at first. I could live the life of a Franscican with the Lords help but, to really let go of the world in that way, I wasn’t sure I was ready for it. It took about 2 more months after watching that film then one day the Lord impressed it on Father Ezekiels heart that he wanted his bride in a habit NOW. No more waiting, not only that but, he wanted to give me a new name I was perplexed to say the least. After hearing these things which I couldn’t object too my heart was racing. I came face to face with the reality that maybe my heart was still in the world, I was so attached to my looks, my persona, and my name. My, my, my sheesh, does someone need to die to self or what lol. Immeaditly I told them I would adhere to the Lords request but, if they would give me a moment too to talk with him. So I ran to Blessed Mothers prayer tree and just bared my heart too her. I told her about my fears, anxieties, and once again what people would think. However, I told her if Jesus wanted this I wanted it too but please give me the peace and fill my heart to love the Lords will. She did just that as she always does!! Blessed Mother is the best, I found myself within an hour flooded with such peace , joy and even a new name. I heard in my spirit “ your name is Mary Elisha, Mary Elisha” so I sought the Lord on discernment and he confirmed that was him.

So on Oct 4th, which we didn’t plan for but Jesus did, I took my religious vows and made a professed my vocation as a third order Franscain oblate. Nana, died that day for the world and all of heaven too see as my witnessess that I indeed had renounced the world and had taken up my wedding garment from the Lord, my habit. An oblate is simply the noun tense of an Oblation which means: a thing presented or offered to God. So one who has made an offering of their life to God as a living sacrifice, picking up their cross daily and following Jesus. The grey habit is to signify “sackcloth” and the brown portion of my garment is called a scapular. It represents Our Blessed Mother who came to one of the Carmelite saints “Simon Stock” wearing the same habit in an apparition. She was wearing the brown scapular and holding a scapular that goes around your neck. Also holding infant Jesus who was wearing the same thing. The scapular represents our servanthood putting the apron on, washing the feet of all those we meet and a brown cord with 5 knots for our 5 vows. A vow of chasity (which is faithfulness to the Lord), a vow of obedience, a vow of holy poverty, a vow of substantial prayer and a vow of substantial solitude. Carmelites dedicated their lives very much like Prophet Elijah and Elisha in prayer and solitude.

I took off the old life, the old nature, the old creation which belongs to my former manner of life which was corrupt with deceitful desires and now have put on my new self, increated after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness. I have been made new! My habit is a sign to my family, friends and the world that I no longer belong to the world nor love the world but have been sent as the Lords’s bride and disciple to serve, love, honor all in humility, simplicy and poverty.

I hope you get a “New Habit” this year too!

Gave Up My Life To Jesus

It is only the Lord who could’ve done this and continues to write this amazing story as I am no longer a bystander but I stand back in awe as His story through me continues to unfold before my eyes. As he led me to leave the world and follow him to NM. He has given me the desire of my heart. HIMSELF!! To officially become his Bride in a deeper walk of faith and commitment as I took my relgious vows and professed my vocation as a Franciscan Sister, Third Order. ( I will do a video about that later on what that entails) I am so humbled to share this journey and wedding ceremony with you all. In worship 2 days ago the Lord played a song from Lecrea ” Tell the World” and the lyrics say ” Ima tell the world ,tell the world I am brand new” So I am! lol A. LOL As Fransician sister my life will be living out the gospel, in intimacy with Jesus and holy life with him. As I have taken life vows of poverty, obedience, chasity (faithfulness to God), substantial prayer, substantial solitude. I pray this will be an invitation for many as I know there will be many more who will come after me. For this narrow road is available to anyone desiring to walk in holiness, truly die to themselves, completely to their past, their flesh and be completely crucified with Christ. To become a new creation in Christ and that is what I have become. The former things have passed away and behold the new has come. No longer Nana but now Mother Mary Elisha given to me by the Lord (mother of souls.) I am so humbled and eternally grateful to the Lord and his tender mercies and graces that got me here. All glory to Him!!. This is Part 1 and will be posting Part 2 tomorrow. Thank you for all your prayers God bless and love you guys!

Jesus Is Saying, “Honey I am Home….”

Jesus in a house

” Honey I am Home”…. a popular phrase that was coined by a tv show in the 1990’s that has come back to me this week during my alone time with the Lord. As he reminds me many times throughout the day Nana, Honey I am Home’. When I get too caught up with distractions or busyness of this life that can so easily take my heart and mind off my sweet bridegroom. Who is waiting on me to break away from the world just so I can come into the chambers of my heart to be with him, where he dwells. Indeed our bodies, our hearts are his home where he desires to dine with us, be with us in a very real way.

Revelation 3:20
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.

Many people are desiring intimacy with Jesus but, it will cost you. It will cost you giving up the many “so called good” things of this world that re impure and filthy in the Lords eyes. He is looking for a pure heart to dwell in. A heart that has made room for him to live and glean consolations from. The many “good” things seem harmless to us but to the Lord its sinful, offensive, toxic and unholy. We have to recognize that Jesus lives within us what we eat, watch, listen too, what we do is also done to him because his spirit dwells in our temples which is our bodies. So every time you sit down to watch that movie Jesus is watching it, when you listen to that worldly song Jesus is hearing it, when you eat food that is so unhealthy to your body Jesus is eating it, when you talk about others, gossip, slander, cast judgement Jesus hears it all.  We serve a  God who is holy and desires that we are holy as well so he may dwell in us at a greater capacity.

Matthew 25: 1:5
At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

If you have heard the story of the 10 Virgins that is a perfect example of 5 brides who carried the oil of intimacy and 5 who once where intimate but, fell asleep. We can liken that to the times we are living in where many were once on fire for the Lord and have now fallen to sleep in lukewarmness. Jesus is looking for a temple, a body, a heart, a bride whose home is committed to purity. That just like a real husband who is headed home from a long days work would want his home to be his safe haven. A wife who has kept up the house, has dinner ready and waiting upon her husband to pamper him and love on him. What man wouldn’t want to come home everyday to that! lol Jesus is the exact same way. He is so very real with a deep deep desire and longing for his brides.  His eyes search the whole world and after enduring a long day of eternal work, a long day of being rejected, blasphemed, spoken again, ignored and taking advantage of by so many other souls in the world. He rushes back to his bride who is burning with an oil of intimacy, He rushes to the chamber of the hearts of those who are commitment to purity, from sin of this world, who always keep their thoughts and mind on him by making a throne room in their hearts for him to sit after a longs day work. A bride who is ready to sit at his feet in prayer at any moment when he calls for her. He longs to hear and smell the sweet fragrance of  her worship and praise because no man wants a nagging complaining wife not even Jesus! Now to that bride when he calls he simply says “Honey I am Home”!

Will you allow your heart to truly be the resting place for Jesus? Commit yourself to purity so our bridegroom can have another place he can call his Heaven on Earth!

Message Jesus Answers His Bride How To Hear & See Me
“I know. Oh, how I love each and every one that is seeking Me. That is why I am here to explain the direction they need to take. You know the things that offend Me. Sin offends Me very much. Sin in clothing, or lack of it, sin in violence, crime, hatred, gossip, backbiting, jealousy, adulteries. Soap operas are the epitome of sin and extremely noxious to Me. Like your-nose-in-fresh-dog-excrement noxious. I mean very, very bad. These things not only offend Me but also the Heavenly court, the angels and the saints. Yet in your world they are matter-of-fact, part of everyday life.

“How can I embrace a Bride, when her mind is full of filth such as this? These things have half- lives, they linger and linger and linger. Over and over again I must see these things as they are recalled to your memory.

“Do you understand, “Blessed are the pure for they shall see God.”? Do you now understand why so many cannot find Me in their prayers? Yes, seek Me until you find Me, but first, clean your house. Come to Me clean, create a throne room in your heart that is undefiled with the filth of this world. And I must say it is not only filth, but worldliness that is offensive to Me.

“Carnal preoccupations with cooking, sewing, decorating, buying, selling, having this and having that. Shopping. Wanting this and wanting that. Oh, those idols are detestable to Me and when I find that kind of clutter in a heart, I want to run the other way. And when I see that a soul prefers that to My company, well… My heart collapses in sadness. Oh, how could you prefer these worthless idols to Me, how could you?”

Renewing My Vows

20140303-Renewal-vows

I am hearing His whisper….
Today you will renew your vows to Me. I will cause you to remember those words you spoke to Me when I first unveiled My love in Your heart. You said to Me that you will love Me and serve Me and go with Me where I lead you.
Today you will renew that vow to Me. And you will know that I am in You, even as you are in Me. I am energized to show you My love as you renew your passion to do My will. There is a work ready for you to do, good works that will bring Me much glory.
You are ready, for I have prepared you. The only thing that now remains is that you fasten Your heart to Mine and come with Me. I will revive your soul until your life overflows with My goodness. Many will see and trust in Me as your life presents My fullness to others.
I will cause the veil to drop in front of you and you will gaze upon mysteries you have never seen before. You will see what angels see and feel the fire of My passion.
What I will reveal to you cannot be learned by books or through the instructions of men. I, Myself, will make your heart to know Me and understand My ways. The preparation I am calling you is this: renew your vows of love to Me today and I will show you things that will change you forever.

– Passion Translation

“I have fallen, I have fallen and I can’t get up”…..this has been the cry of my heart this season. Woooo………. it has been a whirl wind of battle after battle that I continuously failed; because I allowed my flesh and emotions to get in the way of what the Lord was trying to do. Which was to grow me more in virtue and character to resemble him as his bride. I didn’t realize how miserably I had failed until I found myself brokenhearted, wounded, utterly discouraged, weary and looking back to see the many missed opportunities where I could’ve responded like him….in LOVE.

Instead I had allowed seeds of resentment, bitterness, unforgivness to fall in my heart. I had allowed the enemy of my soul to steal my peace, my joy, and even my hope. I had indeed fallen and wasnt sure how to get up anymore. I began to have pride swell in my heart as I questioned Gods ways, wanting to have understanding and feeling entitled too a different path of MY CHOICE and not the one he had laid out for me, because it was so uncomfortable and painful. I thought to myself,  of course this has to be wrong and MY WAY has to be right. ( I got God figured out right) ?WRONG!. I  was frustrated as I continued to worry instead of trust, and question instead of seeking his face for clarity.

What made things worse in light of all of these things was that my weakness was put on  display for others to see. As the enemy would push sensitive buttons over and over again and as I would react in my flesh over and over again. I began to despise my weakness and cried out to the Lord to heal me, fix me but what I love about Jesus is that he is not like a man at all. He gently picked me up in prayer, held me to his chest so tightly and allowed me to be there. Without any words his love would wash over me and he understood perfectly every fiber of my being, he understood perfectly every pain and torment I was going through, he understood perfectly my wants and needs that only he could fulfill. As I felt him say in my heart  ” Beloved don’t despise your weakness or be ashamed for others to see it. In fact boast in your weakness so my grace would be perfected in you. I made you just the way you are in your weakness so you could rely on me even more. Your weakness calls you to intimacy with me”

So this weekend I told the Lord I want to get away with him. I am desperate for his presence and to hear his words of truth to wash away the lies and labels I incurred. I am in need of his balm of Gilead to be poured out upon my heart to heal and strengthen me and his words of wisdom to give me clarity and direction in this season of my life. So 3 1/2 years into our relationship I am going to renew my vows again to Jesus. I am going to empty myself of all I think I know, of all I have been taught and sit at his feet like a child to be taught all over again.  I need him to rekindle the fire of my love so I may continue this journey with the same passion and love for his will in my life. I believe as his bride its so important we do this from time to time. We can begin to get so casual with our relationship with Jesus that we sometimes lose our way and fall….not knowing how to get back up, but we thank God that he runs to pick us up and is still willing to continue this journey with us!

Tending the Sheep: God’s Preparation and Process

sheep

1 Samuel 16:13, 17
13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah. …….
17 So Saul said to his servants, “Provide for me a man who can play well and bring him to me.” 18 One of the young men answered, “Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a man of good presence, and the Lord is with him.” 19 Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, “Send me David your son, who is with the sheep.” 20

This past Tuesday we had our young adults service where the pastor talked about insecure and secure leaders. She made stark comparisons between the leadership of Saul and David. There was one thing that really struck my heart, that after David being anointed king he immediately went back to doing what he was doing…tending the sheep. Then later was summoned to serving the reigned King Saul. He immediate wasn’t placed on the throne, He never showed any impatience about Gods timing , He didn’t feel that tending the sheep was beneath him now that he had been anointed king. To be frank he didn’t allow his new found title or anointing to cause him to despise returning to his humble beginnings. David trusted God in the preparation and the process. There is a lot I can learn from David.

I found myself waking up last week feeling discouraged and impatience about my situation. Remembering the promises of God and what he has called me too I began to be frustrated still staying at my moms house and now babysitting all day. Finding myself struggling to be a good steward of my time and being able to get any work done for the Lord because of watching the kids. I began to feel like this was all that there was  because at the end of last year I found myself in the same predicament helping my other sister out by taking her to work@5 am, taking the kids to school by am and baby sitting them after-school. It was rough as I found myself grumbling and complaining in discontentment asking the Lord when….when will I do what you have called me too. Then He said

“Stop complaining I am preparing you for marriage”

I was like waaaaa lol, okay Jesus. The interesting thing is I have a heart for children and I know I am called to them. One prophecy I received is that I am called to missions and my life will be a testimony to children. I always had it in my mind to raise a lot of kids or even a orphanage. So I should’ve known that the Lord was preparing me with children ministry 101 with my nieces and nephews. Every step in this journey has been preparation. The Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance what was said at our young adults service about King David this week when I woke wanting to sit in my discouragement and discontentment. Nana, you are just now in your sheep field as David was that doesn’t take away your anointing, doesn’t take away the calling upon your life or my presence. As David went back o the sheep field after being anointed to be prepared some more so do I train my servants the same way who are called to a high calling. Find your confidence, security and trust in me and me alone not what you are doing. Don’t become impatience but trust in the field is where you are being trained. At your mom’s house is where you are being trained to “love until it hearts, for charity begins at home”, where you learn to put children before ministry, where you learn how to be patience with he little ones and teach them about me, where you learn how to manage your time and multi-task, where I am preparing you for motherhood, where you learn humility and total reliance on me. Trust MY preparation and MY process, when you do that I am forced to continuously give you more graces to do what I have called you to do.

So have you found yourself excited, called and anointed by God for a task but you find yourself going back….back too your sheep field (whatever that may look like). Back the the place of humble beginnings and it looks like you have gone backwards then forwards? Well, praise God lol Don’t get discouraged, impatience, or discontent but began to first see the lesson he wants you to learn in your sheep field and most importantly trust the preparation and process being secure that the Lord our God is faithful to finish and complete what he has started!

My Valentines Letter To Jesus….My Marriage Vows

letter

I know valentines day has passed but wanted to share a sweet moment that I had that day. 3 years ago began my covenant relationship with Jesus I didn’t know what true love was until I surrendered my desire to be loved to him. Since then he has captured my heart, my body, my mind and soul. Truly the God that we serve is so gentle, so tender, so loving, so gracious, so good, so funny, so faithful, and so steadfast. He indeed has become my everything. You see before surrendering to the Lord I didn’t know you could be this intimate with him, I thought he was just a distant God who watched over us, answered prayer and got upset if we did something wrong but that is so far from the truth lol. The saddest part is many people see Jesus this way because they have allowed Man, religion….and I hate to say it the Church, Christians and even pastors to show them who God is rather than looking at Jesus life to be a true reflection of the heart and nature of the one true God!

Exodus 34:1, 4-10
“A God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love

So all of this in my heart prompted me to share my relationship with two other young ladies who then decided to give themselves wholeheartedly to Jesus in a covenant relationship on Valentines day. We had our church young adults ministry and we held a short but sweet wedding ceremony. Where three of my friends bought purity rings and vowed to keep themselves for Jesus until their marriage. It was so awesome. We all had vows we wrote to Jesus and had witnesses to hold us accountable. I am now excited to do this journey with my friends and many others who are now beginning to desire intimacy with God and take their walk with Jesus seriously! These are photos of my friends below…as the Beyoncé song goes “If you like what you see put a ring on it”…well Jesus did lol!celibacy

So here go my marriage vows to the King of My heart Jesus after 3 long years of marriage lol:
Jesus, we have been through so much together. The first two years was the most difficult I had many thoughts of doubt and even divorce at moments but, your relentless patience, love, gentleness, and faithfulness held me together. You continue to make me feel like I am the only woman in all the world that you love. You have made me stronger, better, you have encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone. You have been my anchor, my rock, and my protector when fear has set in. You have never left my side when many times I have wandered. You have never lusted for another when many times my eyes and my heart has wandered. You are indeed made just for me and I just for you. You have taught me the love and beauty in submission and seeking your wisdom in every decision as my life partner. You have comforted me in the most darkest moments. You held me together when no one else could. My tears are liquid words that you only can read and understand. You have gone before me in all things and as my rear and front guard you have hedged me finely. You are indeed the true lover of my soul. You have shown me love that surpasses anything of this world. Your presence is something I cherish may I never take it for granted. I consecrate myself to you my love on this day. I give you my body, my heart, my soul, my mind  to be fully yours. I vow to stick this out through thick and thing for all of eternity.  I vow to always make you the first person I talk to in the morning and the last at night. I vow to be your help mate, laying down my life to help you build your kingdom. To cover your mission and purpose in prayer. I vow to defend, stand up and be unashamed of you and who you are to me. I vow to share you with others because this is the only marriage you have graced to be and “open marriage”. I vow to take care of our children and family. Jesus I love you take this strong-willed, hotmess of a girl to be your bride!

Isaiah 62:5
As a young man marries a young woman, so will your Builder marry you; as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you.

As a believer living in this time we have the most beautiful grace to know Jesus even more intimately because we are his “Bride” that goes for you to guys 🙂 . The Church is the bride of Christ but since were individual members and our bodies are his temple we too are individual are his bride. In my season of singleness I have come to know and love Jesus as my hubby before my physical hubby comes! lol He has taught me submission, trusting in him, consecrating my body to him alone, seeking him for wisdom before I make any major decisions, helping me be a good steward of my time so we have time for each other, going on dates with him and including him in every aspect of my life. Jesus has truly been preparing me for marriage and teaching me what it means to be an Ephesians 5 Wife, A Titus 2 and A Proverbs 31 woman. You don’t have to wait start or grow in these attributes ladies when you get a husband start now with the Lover of your soul, Jesus!. Marriage is suppose to be a reflection of your relationship with Jesus anyway! Its been amazing and He is the Perfect Husband lol

Singleness In Light Of Eternity

48db8e86db9259a105274034599e119a_400x400

I know, I know I can already the see the eye rolls of many young ladies who are desiring, have been waiting and some to be frankly honest desperate to get married . I can also hear some ladies saying “what do you mean I shouldn’t desire marriage?” lol of course not. Marriage is a wonderful gift from the Lord and meant to be an example and a reflection of our relationship with him. However, in our generation marriage and  weddings have been idolized and magnified leaving those who are single feeling incomplete, hopeless and sometimes purposeless which is a lie many have believed and soooo far from the truth. We have even taken the worlds approach by encouraging ladies to make themselves available, to even look a certain way to catch the eyes of a man or even worse were conditioned to believe as a single woman when you come to Jesus the next step is getting married. So you pursue, hunger for that, desire that all through your single season….and its wasted. In light of eternity there is so much work to be done whiles your single! I know man go through this too but speaking from a woman’s point of view because that’s what I am. A single 32 year old lover of Jesus and pursing him with everything I have…..until he GIVES me marriage!

Song of Solomon 8:4
Don’t excite love, don’t stir it up, until the time is ripe—and you’re ready.

I love this scripture especially this message version is says not stir up love until you’re ready. Many ladies believe they are ready for marriage but let me challenge you are you truly? As I said before marriage is a gift given by God but most importantly it is suppose to mirror the relationship you have with Jesus already. As a single woman Jesus is your husband (Isaiah 54:5), Is he your everything, do you do everything with him and for him?  One thing that confused me upon surrendering to the Lord was I began to notice many young Christian ladies around me who would talk more about marriage constantly, go to conferences for it, pursue it, pray and fast for it than Jesus (which there is nothing wrong with these things) but my hearts desire was to pursue more of Jesus. An aunt of mine even made a comment to my mom stating “Wow Nana is really into the Lord she must be wanting a husband”. I was like whaaaaa lol I was noticing that was the mentality of most of the African woman at my local church. You could have success in your life and career but if you weren’t married it meant nothing and that going to church as a single woman was to find a husband (the devil is a lie ) LOL. Please I wanted Jesus more than my last breath and I still do #lovemesomehim.

Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.

Are You Submitted Bride To Jesus

Ladies how you are single is how you will be married. If your discontent, complaining, unhappy, selfish, not driven or motivated and especially not submitted to the Lord that’s exactly how you will be when you get married. That’s dangerous lol. Marriage is an example of what your relationship is with Christ. So if you haven’t totally surrendered to the Lord in every area of your life then how than will you know how to submit to your husband. So in this single season why don’t you ask God what it means to submit to him. Are you obedient to what he ask you to do, are you mindful of what you watch, where you go, how you spend your time and even your money all just to please him? Do you seek Jesus for counsel before you make decisions?

Proverb 14:1
The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.

Are You About His Kingdom

What are you doing with this beautiful gift of singleness the Lord has entrusted to you. Are you a wise woman building up his kingdom or are you building your kingdom? Many ladies have their hearts so focused on marriage  that they become idle no doing anything to really impact the kingdom. Some might think the only ministry you will have has only to do with you and your husband. However, your life should be a ministry now. In Genesis the Lord blessed the man and the woman and said “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it (Genesis 1:28).  Many use this scripture solely pertaining to barring children but God wants you to bare fruit so are you? There is soooo much work to be done. All of  you have an amazing purpose outside of your husband in this season.  This season might be for intercession of others, serving your community or local church, traveling on mission trips, hosting events to draw many to Christ,  evangelizing where he places you, leading bible studies, serving children, poor and elderly or might be season to walk in deliverance, freedom, healing, building your confidence, trust and faith in your true husband Jesus! Guess what, when God finally gives you the gift of marriage none of these things stop, your spouse just adds on to it…..to the Kingdom. #Kingdomcouple

So you see sis you are burdened with a glorious amazing awing purpose and it doesn’t begin when you get married but, it began the moment you said yes to Jesus…..hehe wait you see how when a man ask you “will you be my wife?”…well when you accept Jesus you actually say yes to being his bride hahah I love that! So now that your married to Christ take his hand in this single season and do life with him. Eternity starts right NOW and he has gifted you with so many other gifts he wants you to use right NOW. So what will you do to impact eternity whiles you wait…for the gift of marriage?

Its Our Anniversary!!

13263940_10104526343343690_5527043587468368710_n

So its our anniversary!, yes the day I finally surrendered completely control to the one who deserves control Jesus! lol It was 3 years ago on January 1, 2014 I remember I was at my little sisters house and I had been toiling with this decision for a couple of weeks now. After receiving a prophetic word from two different people confirming God wanted me to lay down my event business, clothing line and desire to move to NY in order to follow MY dreams instead now to follow HIM. That was a tough and scary decision as I was on the couch I just prayed I believe the most sincere prayer as I told him “that I was scared to let go and give him complete control but I would do it” Immediately after I said that prayer my phone had a notification the bible verse of the day and it was:

Isaiah 41:10
Don’t be afraid for I am with you
Don’t be discouraged for I am your God
I will strengthen you and help you
I will lift you up with my victorious right hand

I remember then running to my sisters room with the phone in the palm of my hand shaking in shock saying ” Omg he answered me, he answered me” with excitement lol
In all honesty I had made a commitment in my heart to give complete control over to Jesus for about a year to see what he could do lol. Well we see who won and who will always win…Oh ye of little faith, that was truly me.

Now 3 years later what can I say about my beloved bridegroom Jesus, he indeed has become my everything. He once said to me that “if I don’t know him and his ways how can I then walk in my assignment and calling”. He has indeed been faithful in showing me my true identity, my purpose and has filled every void and cleaned up every throne in my heart that I had. He not only King of my  heart but of my life, my decisions, my thoughts, and reactions. I didn’t know how lost I was until He found me! That’s what I love about him drawing me into intimacy . I have realized Jesus desires this relationship with all his children. That’s what the cross did for all those who will and do believe in Jesus. It restores back to your true identity as a son and daughter of God. Having fellowship and communion with him daily which is available to anyone who would believe and surrender their whole life that Christ would live through you as his disciple and bride.

You see I was a believer but not a disciple and definitely not a bride. I hadn’t fully surrendered, I had the holy spirit around me but he wasn’t indwelling within me. That’s the beauty in surrender, you give up what wasn’t yours in the first place……your life because Jesus Christ died for all men and in him alone you have life.We have been through so much together it truly feels like a marriage not even kidding lol   Now as his bride and disciple I know what that scripture means to be a submitted wife:

Ephesians 5:22
Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord

Ooooh how I have learned and still learning the true meaning of submission unto the Lord. Its difficult at times for sure because its crucifying your flesh  and truly DIE to yourself completely which is all by Gods grace and his work in us.  He indeed has and is preparing me for marriage…Heeey now! lol I went through my old journals  to look back at the many things I didn’t know and have come to know now walking with the Lord these past 3 years.

What I have learned about being the bride of Christ:

  • Its soooooo rewarding!
  • I was sent by God here on this earth to testify of him and be a witness to the light that’s inside of me…Jesus! John 1
  • He dwells in my heart so I have to keep it pure
  • Obedience, Obedience, Obedience lol oh and Trust, Trust, Trust hehe
  • I am the highlight of his day! (we all are actually !)
  • I have the same grace to walk just like Jesus did on this earth!
  • The fastest way to His heart is through worship, he literally shows up and something supernatural happens!
  • It is difficult, it will cost you everything for the word say  “narrow and difficult is the way that leads to life and few go there in” Matthew 7:14
  • Your life calls for complete abandonment to self-desires, motives, plans, strengths and complete surrender to the Lord
  • This intimacy is available to everyone who desires it….”seek him UNTIL you find him” Jeremiah 29:13
  • Giving up is not an option, to take Jesus hands when things get difficult and allow him to carry me
  • That we all have the ability to actually hear and see Jesus in the spirit! Matthew 5:8
  • Jesus loves to dance, He is so tender, sensitive, funny, and so loving!
  • That my life should always be to raise others up around me than myself
  • The greatest power on earth is LOVE and he has given all his brides a gift of love
  • I have been called to a life of suffering, rejection and death (to self) just like my beloved Christ
  • That I am called to look just like Christ I will be persecuted, accused, made fun of, rejected, scorned, talked about….that’s all normal because that’s when I look most like him
  • He uses the worst situation and people to test my heart in love, patience and charity
  • My Enemies are a gift from him and not enemies at all. He uses them to purify me so I should bless them and be thankful instead
  • The more difficult and dark the situation or person the better because the light in me can shine brighter
  • He has given me charge over the angels of heaven, I can command their assistance in anything….I love the angels! Matthew 28:18
  • I am called to love others to Christ
  • To be humble, to little, to be the least, to be overlooked, to become a beggar for his sake is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven
  • To always gives thanks in everything…..I mean everything

So have you been feeling a pull on your heart this year 2017, to finally surrender ALL to the Lord. Not just surrender your Sundays by going to church and maybe even Wednesdays for bible study but no surrender all that you are. Surrender your heart, your life, and dreams completely to the one who is in control of ALL things, to the one who created the universe, to the one who has ALL authority over heaven and earth and most importantly to the one that died for you that you may live…..in him, Jesus. I am telling you surrender it all to him, surrender this year to him and stand back, let go of control, watch and be in awe at what he does in and with your life!

This Valentines Day Will You Be A Waiting Bride?

1-the-waiting-bride-dolores-develde

I see merchandise everywhere as people get ready for the grand holiday of Love; Valentine’s Day. This day is designed to lavish love on the one you love most; who will that be for you? Those of us who are dating have most likely been feverishly looking online to see what they can spend on their significant other. You may be looking for that right outfit to purchase and some, if I can be brutally honest, are looking for the best lingerie, renting a hotel room or gateway and planning on making it the most romantic night to remember.
Now if I may be honest again, how many of us are doing all these things, not for a husband or wife, but instead for a person we want to give husband privileges to, like a boyfriend and wifey privileges like a girlfriend? In a culture that is so sexually driven we look at having morals as being old fashioned, we look to social media to provide an image of what our marriages & relationships should look like, even creating a hastag #Relationshipgoals which portray an attractive man or woman together, or couples of power.
However, I am here to tell you the best and only relationship goal we should have is with our Savior, our God and our beloved Groom, Jesus Christ. Most see God as a Holy Deity that we have to fear. Man has come to the knowledge of seeing God as our Father but very few have come to know God through his Son as our groom and “We” His children are His bride, not the church. The Lord is returning for His bride so very soon. So this Valentine’s Day you may ask how to put all former thoughts and feelings aside and come to know Him as your beloved groom, well here are some pointers below:

1 Corinthians 6:19
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Keeping our bodies as a Holy temple for it is the dwelling place of God. Isn’t that amazing the Creator of the universe, the living God dwells in you by His Holy Spirit! So don’t even think to profane your temple with sexual sin of any kind, with dressing your temple to entice or induce others into lusting after what is not yours in the first place. You were purchased with a price, such a precious price; the blood of Jesus and what a precious temple you are to your groom. I mean if you think about it, would you sleep with another man/woman right before you get married? Most people would say of course not! Then keep your temple pure as a sweet smelling fragrance for your groom as He eagerly awaits to be reunited with you. Yes. Jesus Christ our Savior is in eager anticipation to finally see you face to face and to behold His beautiful bride! So get dressed for Him instead, put the finest outfit and best perfume to prepare a night of intimacy with your groom!

Song Of Solomon 1:3
Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the young women love you!

Keep your heart pure for Him alone.

If you’re single is your mind occupied with the following questions: Why don’t I have a man/woman? When is he/she coming? Why hasn’t he/she texted me to hang out?
If you’re in a relationship, you may be thinking of your significant other on how they make you laugh, why you love them so much, can’t wait for all the romantic things to happen that night, if he will propose this time (for my ladies) lol etc.
None of those thoughts are pure! We all yearn for deep fellowship, companionship and completion but, do you know that the only one who can complete us is Jesus himself. That longing you have that no other thing can satisfy was placed there by Him because He wanted us to realize how much we need Him and in honesty how much He yearns for that. Do you know we were all created from the heart of God and until you return to Him, there is a longing, a hole in His heart that NO ONE ELSE but, you can complete in Him. Isn’t that so amazing, wow that’s how much you mean to Him and that’s how much He looongs for you! So what things do you have in the throne of your heart? Could be your children, career, dreams, spouse, money, your past memories or lust of this world. There are so many things. Ask Him to clean out your heart and make your heart a home for your groom who loves to be adored by you, loves to be sung too, loves to be talked too and loves to be worshiped by you with your WHOLE HEART. So fill your heart with Him and He alone, begin to create an atmosphere of worship in your heart because that is the throne room of your temple!

Song Of Solomon 2:14
My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.

Lastly, spend all the time you can with Jesus. You see last year I told the Lord you know what, I just want to love on you so you are my Valentine. I told Him to close His eyes and His ears to all that I wanted to surprise Him with on that day, like He could do that lol but, you never know. I had made it in my mind that I wanted to wear a red dress and asked Him what was His favorite way He liked my hair and I felt very strongly that He liked it when it was curly. So I went to the store the day before our intimate night and low and behold as I walked in there was one red dress left. I didn’t even try it on because I knew it was from Him. I was a little upset that He opened his ears to what I wanted because I wanted it to be a surprise for Him, lol. I requested for the attendance of Abba Father, Holy Spirit and Jesus. Then I did my makeup, my hair and I purchased the Bethel “We Will Not Be Shaken” Concert DVD. When I walked out of the bathroom into the empty living room dressed up ready to worship, my stomach was twisted in knots of butterflies as if I was finally seeing the man of my dream. Immediately I knew that His presence was there, I can’t even explain it, was the most beautiful amazing experience I ever had. I just knew they were all there on the couch dressed in their best to watch their daughter, their bride sing to them. Later that evening my sister joined me and broke down in tears because of the presence of the Lord. He is soooo amazing (sigh) so this Valentine’s day. I say all this to challenge you to do the same. The Lord yearns for His bride like never before because He is soon returning to take those who are waiting for Him, who know Him, and who are ready to be a bride of Christ!

Song Of Solomon 7:10
I belong to my beloved, and his desire is for me.
